Build a welfare society, Develop public policy

To build a welfare society that enables us to ensure human development over a lifetime, we provide education and engage in applied research and collaboration with individuals, NPOs, local communities, businesses, as well as local governments. We encourage our students to become skilled in policy making, problem identification and solving, and to lead a welfare society.

Our Faculty has two Departments: the Department of Public Policy and the Department of Welfare Society. Our vision is: "Build a welfare society." and "Develop public policy."

Department of Public Policy

Our Department conducts research and provides students with the comprehensive theory and methodology in social science fields such as law, political science and economics, and skills that develop public policy toward a welfare society.

Department of Welfare Society

Our Department, focusing on human development and well-being, conducts research, provides students with the comprehensive theory, methodology and skills in social science fields such as sociology, social welfare, pedagogy and phycology, and cultivates human resources in a welfare society.

In addition to the major program, our faculty offers systematic sub-major courses in order to help students to think extensively, to create flexibly and problem-identify multilaterally, which is required in contemporary society.

For students at the Department of Public Policy:
"Social Welfare Program" and "Human Development Program"

For students at the Department of Welfare Society:
"Social Security Program" and "Public Policy Program"

Given the acquisition of predetermined credit, the students officially can be awarded a certificate of sub-major program as well as bachelor's degree.

    General Theory of Social Welfare, Social Welfare for the Elderly, Public Assistance, Child Welfare, Welfare for Disabled People, Criminal Justice, and Social Work

    General Theory of Sociology, General Theory of Pedagogy, General Theory of Psychology, Lifelong Learning, Development of Personality, and Family Sociology

  • Social Security Program
    Social Security, Labour Law, Constitutional Law, Public Finance, Social Policy, Economic Policy, Politics, and Family Law
  • Public Policy Program
    Public Involvement, Local Government, Administrative Law, Policy Process, Regional Economy, Local Public Finance, and Practice of Public Policy
